Whitening or Bleaching

Bleaching cont Whitening

According to the FDA, the term "bleaching" is permitted to be used only when the teeth can be whitened beyond their natural color. This applies strictly to products that contain bleach — typically hydrogen peroxide or carbamide peroxide.
The term "whitening," on the other hand, refers to restoring a tooth’s surface color by removing dirt and debris. So any product that cleans (like a toothpaste) is considered a whitener. Of course, the term whitening sounds better than bleaching, so it is more frequently used — even when describing products that contain bleach.

White Bleaching Gel Syringes - Carbamide Peroxide

It's not the number of syringes you buy, but how much bleach is in each syringe. Syringes are calibrated in either milliliters (ml) or cubic centimeters (cc). Both are measurements of volume.

NOTE - Teeth whitening gel refills are ONLY used with Whitening Trays. By buying these whitening gel refills, you acknowledge that you have had professional instruction regarding the storage, dispensing and application of bleaching gel. Do NOT smoke, drink or eat while bleaching your teeth. It is NOT recommended to bleach your teeth if you're pregnant or nursing.

Introduction

In the blossoming world of cosmetic dentistry, teeth whitening is a supreme. It is universally valued by men and women alike, whitening (or bleaching) treatments are available to satisfy every budget, time frame and temperament.
Whether in the form of one-hour bleaching sessions at your dentist’s office, or home-use bleaching kits purchased at your local drugstore, teeth whitening solutions abound.

Yet only 15 percent of the population has tried the cosmetic procedure, and misinformation on the subject is rife.

Teeth whitening is very big business. Nearly 3 billion dollars was spent on teeth whitening treatments and 1/3 of that was spent for at home products. But there can be some problems with the at home do-it-yourself treatments.

Bleaching gel trays can cause extreme sensitivity and in some cases has caused serious pain in the teeth and gums after its use. Another teeth whitening system that uses a device with a laser light with instructions to repeatedly use over a period of 3 hours will cause blistering and burning of the inside of your lips and gums. Use Caution when you use these products. Read the box inserts carefully !
